Atheists' Rights Supercedes All

While several wars are being fought simultaenously all over this world in the name of peace or religion or both, today a major, modern miracle happened.

U.S. Airways Airbus Flight No. 1549 enroute from LaGuardia Airport in N.Y. to Charlotte/N.C. landed safely in the middle of the frigid, current filled Hudson River. All 153 passengers and crew basically walked away unharmed. The geese that seem to have caused it, were obviously not so lucky.

Also today, Newton/N.J.'s town council ended their tradition of starting their meetings by reciting the Lord's prayer because Doug Radigan, a self proclaimed avowed athiest, told the council it was offensive to him. He requested a secular replacement.

The town council had no other choice since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the religious prayers recited at government functions are in violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances".

I say all of that to ask this...do you think anyone on that plane recited the Lord's prayer as it was plunging down into the river?
Do you think if they did, that God may have been listening?

I wonder what Radigan would've said if he was on that same plane.

He'll never know - not today anyway.

Miracles happen.

God lives, loves and guess what else?

While there is still breath in my lungs, blood in my fingertips, war in the world and freedom of speech in America I will pray/post/promote prayer, the Lord's prayer, and my Most High God in general - because I STILL can unlike a lot of people on this planet who cannot.

I am a warrior make no mistake - just try me.

God be praised . . .

"Our Father, who art in heaven, holy be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil".

For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever.

And 'the church' said "Amen".

Sure.

Do you think if they did, that God may have been listening?

Of course not; gods are myths. If gods listened, why would people die in plane crashes at all? Do you think people killed in plane crashes simply failed to pray?

I wonder what Radigan would've said if he was on that same plane.

Why do you wonder? Do you think he would suddenly be convinced of ancient myths?

Miracles happen.

Where? All I see is a water landing by a skilled pilot, in a plane that was correctly prepared for it (by sealing many of the plane's interior compartments so the plane will stay afloat much longer). I hope you don't consider this a miracle.

Hi Brian,

You are exactly where you are supposed to be...in an unbelieving state and I am exactly where I am supposed to be - in a believing state.

I do not criticize or judge your manic blog about nothingness - I suppose that's just what you're all about. No insult intended.

It is interesting to me that you felt compelled to respond to my blog though - perhaps God is speaking to your heart - or just your ears since based on your response you probably don't have one - a heart that is.

"gods are myths"? Are you for real, for real? You're probably not - just flesh and blood.

Perhaps one day your Spirit will get a word in edgewise.

Good luck with all of that.

Stop by anytime - I welcome the challenge - oh and I'll say a little prayer for you : ) LOL!

Love and light.

Oh and one more thing Brian - WE ALL DIE! God has fashioned your life that way - good question though.

I hope you would delve deeper into the truth of the answer of why life ceases in this body - what will become of your soul, I wonder about too?

Cheers.

God is a myth?? I think Brian meant that myths are myths. Don't mistake the finger pointing at the moon for the moon there Bri. Religions, dogmas, prayers are human made. Transcendent, divine, energy or a loving God or whatever people have faith in is something else.

Now off to check out his manic blog about nothing.

Ri, you handled this guy with great compassion. If he were commenting on my blog I would have destroyed him.

Hey Li...it wasn't me : ) it was God in me. Besides, if I am who I say I am - that's my job. Yes? Praise His Name! And, I've already prayed for Brian today among others. He's just trying to find his way. He'll find it.

"The prayers of a righteous man (or in my case a righteous goddess), availeth much".

Love, love, love, love and love.
